This is our Bainbridge CD release concert for our new album, Hot Club Swing! We'll play each song on the album, in order, plus we'll share some stories from the recording studio. For this album, we selected our best tunes from the last decade of performances, then we spent time really dialing in the arrangements. We also recorded two of Ranger's newer compositions that have barely been performed live yet! The album features the full band, plus 4 guest musicians on select tracks--we hope to have some of them participate in this concert as well, stay tuned...
The BIMA auditorium is one of our favorite performance spaces: beautiful and comfortable; every seat is a great one, and most importantly the sound is amazing! Over the years, we've developed a small repertoire of jazzy holiday tunes--we really enjoy playing them, and there's only a short season when we get to break them out! For this show we'll play a mix of our regular repertoire and those "Re-Arranged" holiday classics. To give an example--one audience favorite is our minor-key, tango version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer : )
14 miles out on the end of the beautiful Toandos Peninsula sits the Laurel B. Johnson Community Center--the perfect place to hear an intimate concert in a beautiful room. The peninsula is affectionately called "the end of the earth" by some of the residents. There are no gas stations, restaurants or markets, so come prepared!
